I am looking for a software that allows me to convert various documents ( such as MS Word, Excel, etc ) to PDF files, easily and fast. I have searched on Google but I'm not satisfied with the results so far, the free ones add advertising or watermark texts, and the paid ones are not very easy to use.

Probably not what you're looking for, but OpenOffice converts Office-type files to PDF directly. If you want complete control, you're best bet is to get Adobe Acrobat, even though it's expensive, but you might be able to get an educational discount.

I don't know if it still exists, but Adobe used to have a web site where you could upload files and get them converted to PDF. You may want to look around their site and see if it's still there.

Is there some reason you are not using the obvious solution, Adobe Acrobat Writer?
