Google Ads on Opera: Is it right?I think Opera's latest idea to feature Google Adwords based on content off a web page being viewed is simply morally, ethically wrong!

I have a half a mind to disable ALL my web pages to Opera users (well, at least until this situation changes)! What are your thoughts, if any? __________________

This is with the latest free version of Opera? Do they still provide an "ad free" paid version? FWIW, I use a free version of Opera and have ignored the banner ads since day one.

What I think is that it doesn't matter if it was just the free version that features this... or that only a handful of web surfers on my web pages ever use the browser on any given day;
It's a matter of principal and it sets a dangerous precedence. __________________

Its too easy to spoof your UA nowadays, I think they need to come up with something a bit more unhackable, but obviously that isn't easy.
There's probably a lot more Opera users than you expect. Rob |
