I work for a Private Investigator and we go through phone records a lot. I need to know if there is a program out there that counts how many times a certain number appears or series of number, ie., phone numbers. I have to go through these records and count how many times the top 5 phone numbers appear. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone can lead me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

How is the data formatted? Different programs require the data in different formats, e.g. comma-separated values, straight text files, database files, etc.

You might be able to just use a spreadsheet and order the numbers sequentially then apply a filter or just count them.
