Harsh critique needed!

my new site;
http://www.frostconservatories.co.uk

can you have a look and tell me if the menus are logical to you?

I have a contact form on the way, but it is not up there yet...

I have thick skin so do your worst!!

Thanks

I like your menus. I like the way everything fades into view once you select your link. I am not certain about calling one of your links "Case Studies". It seems more like lab work, or scientific studies. But, that might just be me.

Other than that, I really like everything I saw. I really like the opening screen with the house lighting, and the sky also lightening an darkening.

Re: harsh critique needed!

The menu's do indeed seem logical, they are clear and concise.
Although i did find that after clicking on the 'introduction' and 'about us' links the mouse developed a refresh problem where it flickered and turned slightly blue. Flash is somewhat of an anathema to me, but i'd guess it was flash related.
overall an easy to use and aesthetically pleasing site. Well done.

I like this - the design is what you'd expect for this type of site - it's not too stylish (if you don;t mind me saying) but it does the job and that's right for this type of site - I like it.
What backend technology did you use to develop this? There's a load of data on this. This is a well developed site, it appears as if you have designed it from developers at[ www.***.com Anyway, I think you could make your logo a bit bigger though and maybe space things out a bit more - put more spacing between offers..
Good work on the whole...

Re: harsh critique needed!

Hey couple of things I noticed:
1) The opening page gets a bit on the dark side to read the text. I don't have a fancy new bright monitor, so it may just be my monitor, but I think it's good practice to assume everyone is viewing your page with less them great equipment. I don't think the page dimming really adds anything to the site
2) You don't have any menue transissions so it's a bit choppy when you click on a new part of the site. It kind of jumps around. That's fine in html when you expect that because of the wait to load a page. When you view a flash site (especially a small one with no visiable loading) you don't expect a jump like that
3) The colors match well, I like that part of the site. As well as the technical menu. I think that one is really well done.

Under the case studies images.. I would be nice once you click on a house that you can click and enlarge all the images instead of just the first... But overall you have done a good job.

I really hate Flash . In fact, I have Flashblock installed in Firefox.

I like your menus and i think it looks ok, as for the flash .... im not against but you should consider making a html version for ppl who have low connections.

I personally really like the flash site.
Granted there are some that go way over the top but yours is not of them.
I do agree about the HTML version of the site. I do know some people that still have dial up.

Re: harsh critique needed!

I like it. It's clean and professional.

The only thing that bugs me is the stop and next buttons in the gallery. I think they could be much darker.

Also, just curious here... is the content database driven or hardcoded into the flash?
