Bring back lost file


Hello,

I lost a file and need to bring it back at once. The file is important, so what is the best tool to use to restore with mximum chances? My os is Win xp, fs NTFS

I think the best tool is Active@ Undelete. It is very powerful and what is more, last version has boot disk image that will help you if system files are gone and you can not boot in normally

Can't you just use XP's "roll back" feature? I haven't used XP in years so I don't know if it works that way or not.

Before you do anything we really need to know how it was lost.

Was it accidentally deleted and emptied from the recycle bin, was it lost because of a disk error, etc... what led up to your losing the file?

Knowing this sort of information will help us to help you as different 'fixes' work in different ways.
