Trouble with htdocs on network drive.

Win2000, newest version of apache, running as a service. I have apache pointing to a network drive for the default web root. I have the apache service using my permissions (Read Write to the drive and administrator on the machine just for testing purposes). When I type the address in the url, using localhost or I.P. + index.html, it gives me 0 content from the page. I get a status code 200, so it knows the page is there. When I go to retreive a page that is not there it gives me the proper 404. I thought it might be a parsing error but it still gives me 0 content when I go to retreive images.
The configuration works fine when I set it to a local fodler in the C:\ drive and I have my log file set to debug and it gives me no errors when set to the network drive. I've used 4 different browsers so it cannot be client side.
Anyone heard of this before or can provide any suggestions?

Thanks,

kibb
