Save code option

I was wondering if you could add something that would let you save the code that someone provides as a notepad file.

An example code would be:
PHP Code:

Click on something to save me

I have a small image that I just made up a minute or two ago, if you want to do this, might be pretty cool to do, then I will make one a little bit better if thats the image that you would like to use.

If you have a copy or a blank image like the default images for this site, I will make it on that if you like.

Attached is the little image icon thing. Not too much, but its just an idea.

[Just updated it with the correct picture]

Personally, I never ever use those 'copy to clipboard' buttons. I find 'highlight-copy-paste' more convenient; but this forum is not entirely 'about me' so I am open to suggestions.

I think I understand what you're getting at but unfortunately I am not too good with JavaScript to go about implementing this... if you have ideas or solutions in mind, let's hear them.

The default 'icon' I use here is missing from my HDD, so what you have attached above looks perfect for now

- Well I thought that you could use php to do it. What is needed is the information that is embedded on the page(inside the text box that displays the code) to be dynamic. So you click on a button, and it sends the information to a function that will make it a .txt file, then it will automatically download.

I doubt javascript could do this..

Hmmm..... You made me sit back and think for a bit! At the moment I don't think I am able to do something useful with PHP since 'code' like these remain as part of one larger text field in the database.

Creating the text file, like you suggest, is NOT the problem. The problem is how will the script find just the code to extract or even which one (if more than one code is present in a post)?
