The Clearer would be the best way to go I think. But you may what to try this to. In my system I use two CD ROMS one a burner and one just a cheap one I picked up at some hardware store. This way I only use my burner if I'm burning CD. I have found that gives one a longer life. I play a lot of games and when I just used one CD ROM I was going through more than I wanted to. This is just my option it seems o work for me. I've had the same burner now for 5 years and still no problems.
