Beige Tower offers Linux based hosting for domain names and beigetower.org subdomains. We use only open source software but members may use whatever legal software they have.

Currently, we offer the following:

Dedicated Apache webserver per user on their own private IP
PHP, perl, mod_perl, SSI
MySQL database
Shell access
As much bandwidth or disk as needed (ie you must justify your usage according to the TOS)
IMAP/POP/SFTP/FTP access
SSL for everyone
WebMail
PHPMYAdmin preinstalled
Webalizer preinstalled
phpBB preinstalled
no ads

It's a flexible hosting environment. We are constantly adding new features so what we havent listed today will be there the next week. We're currently working on control panel functionality so you can control your domain more (ie add your own subdomains, your own email accounts).

What exactly are Shell access and SSL?

My current hosting company is giving my sites a poor up time - I hope they fix this habit and aim for 99.9% uptime. What is the average up time for Beige Tower?
