I am developing a site which offers free membership . The member area will have 100% free e-books and useful resources.

Can i have adsense ads inside member's area.Does this violate google TOS?

dont do this. reason is that the member area will have repeating high pageview. this will trigger google alarm

Charles may be right, but it's not fact.

The biggest problem is that the Google Mediapartners bot will not have access to the web page and it's content. So how would it show contextually targeted ads?

If you have a popular web site, I suppose it will show ads matching the general theme of your web site, but this is a big IF.

I can't remember reading anything related to this in the Google AdSense Terms or Policy.

They do not allows this. We have done this 1 year back and google asked us to remove the ads from members area.

Yes, its against the TOS of the GOOGLE. first it will give you warning and then ban
