Hi,

When it says 'server is not reachable'
are you sure you are still looking at the same ip address?

does it help when you do something like
http://server/dir/ instead of http://server/dir

also, can you post a little part of the access log?
it contains special codes/status info thaty might be able to help finding the problem.

Talking

problem fixed...

hi,

thanks for the reply.

the prob is fixed now by setting "off" the "use conical names" directive in the httpd.cfg.

ok, thats great...

The fix you made was actually my question 'Are you still looking at the same ip'

I've had those problems before, visiting my ip, ending up at my not-yet-updated dynamic hostname.

Hi, I have the similiar question.
I just install the Apache 1.3.7
When i go to localhost i can see the apache index page that mean apache is running.
Can you tell me how can i change the index page to my own web page in my PC?

Lightbulb

hi,

you have to put your own index.xxx in the htdocs folder.
the bunch of apache index files are default indexes and you can remove them to an other folder or delete them.

greets
mike
