CD-RW Power Calibration Error

I have a Philips 800 Series CD-RW that receives a power calibration or buffer underrun error every time I try to burn a CD. The odd thing is, this just started happening on about the last 10 CD's I have attempted to burn. I have tried different types of media, to no avail. I have also tried to run the CD laser lens cleaner, and the burner fails to even recognize this. So, I'm kind of stuck at this point. Any suggestions?

I have had the same problem, and tryed everything, incl. new medias, new drivers without any success.

After measuring the +12V power to the DVD unit in the PC, I realised that this voltage was changing from +11,4 to 12,8V, which is unacceptable during power calibration.

I have inserted a DC to DC converter in the 12V supply to the DVD unit. This DC converter creates a stable 12 volt with a 7 to 18 V input.

After this everything works fine.
