Question

cdd4801


i have a phillips cdd4801 cd burner...sometimes the it can read the cd and sometimes it can not....it starts flashing the little light and after a while it stops flashing and showing no cd in the rom...
as yo can imagine it cant burn any cd.....i ve tried every software ...i even change my OS to win 2000 when i used to have XP ..... i ve tried to update the firmware....nothing works...
please tell me a solution .....there's must be one....

If you have tried all of that and it's still giving you problems I would say that it a bad drive.
