How to get backlinks from high page rank websites which are relevant?

There are really three ways:

1) Have unique and relevant content that others (including those with highly ranked sites) want to link two without any solication
2) Contact owners of sites and ask them to link to your site
3) Purchase links from sites

The first and last options seem to be good but I'm not to sure about the second option. I think it'll be a waste of time for that option.

Purchasing links definitely helps but it is worth to work hard so your web site to be recognized as an important resourse of information.

forums is a good place to start. paid directory drive traffic as well.

Try a bit of the social media scene...get good content up. bookmark it with sites like digg and del.icio.us. If it's a really good article, chances are it will get a lot of bookmarkings (each one serves as a separate backlink). Not a bad idea if you just want a lot of backlinks and traffic.

You dont need necessarily hight PR links ,you just need relevant links.

For the charity I work for I just created profiles on MySpace, Bebo, TalentDatabase, etc. and kept links in my sig & e-mail.

Forums a good way to get help but also advertise but not in a blatant spam way, just a link in my sig :-)

Contacting webmasters of other sites is also a good way, not everyone replies but some do, fair enough.

If you check subliminaldirections.org.uk we've just started doing a banner or text link exchange with other sites (oops a bit of a plug there, sorry folks )
