apache problem

Hi,

I am using Apache 2.2 on Windows XP.

I am running a PHP web application locally on my machine and I would like to use a link like <a href="/">Home</a> that when clicked it will take me to the home page. at them moment it takes me to localhost

am I missing an apache configuration setting or something?

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.

thanks a lot for your help guys

Re: apache problem

Isn't localhost the root file? On all my webserver instances it usually works that way, though it could be due to defaults that I haven't changed. Or maybe I don't totally understand your question.

There should be a config file (I don't recall the actual name) that holds all the Apache settings. Within this file you will be able to tell Apache where to find the default HTML files. Verify that this is pointing to your home directory. You may also want to check your hosts file and see if any of the addresses listed in it need to be changed.
