My ISP is killing me!

My current ISP, TMNet, is currently having some serious problems. It's been 24 hours and I can't even download emails - it takes forever.

Seems to be a major issue, some underwater/underground cable coming undone or something (dumb scuba divers! ).

I've been trying my luck every couple of hours and at this hour of the night, things are much better - not good but better (at least I got my emails... finally!).

Looks like I won't be online much... at least not until Monday when they say things should be back to normal.

Sorry to hear that, I have Charter here and they have been doing so hot ether. The last two months my Internet has been going down every 5 Min. I finally after getting really mad at them had to fix the problem myself by buying a new modem. They didn't have any good ones and I was told that if I got another one from them it would probably be worse then the current one I had so I got my own. Then when I tried to call them to come and pick up there old modem. But they finally fixed the problem this month and have given me two months free. I hope they fix the problem I know how it feel to be out of touch. I sometimes try to think about that it was like before the Internet. But for the life of me I can't remember.

TMNet is the worst ISP in the world - easily!

What can I say, they were so bad 3 years ago, I jumped onto the 2nd biggest ISP in Malaysia: Jaring. Just last month, the government announced that Jaring (the better but smaller ISP) is to be merged with TMNet (the horrible, incompetent and largest ISP in Malaysia), effectively creating yet another monopoly (and a monster).

So now that they (TMNet) will have no competition at all, we can only expect things to get worse - if that is even possible given that their service and quality is already substandard and very poor.

Sometimes I get mad with all this 'talk' and 'hype' about being forward-looking, the Multimedia Super Corridor and all this other fancy acronyms they come up with every week or so but nobody does a damn thing to get this sorry-excuse-of-a-isp to buck up and give their customers just 15mins of clear, uninterrupted connection to the Internet! It has ONLY been 5 years for heaven's sake!
