Streaming video and mp3z

I want to put streaming video on a couple of my sites. One is for viewing art and the other is for viewing live music, which I want to record and later have for sale. Is there an easy way to do this. The art site is...you guessed it, www.galleryonshow.com

Re: Streaming video and mp3z

You could spend the money and get a dedicated streaming system. Even though that's the easiest, it's probably not what you're looking for.

I think Quicktime Pro has streaming capabilites and I know RealAudio does too. Beyond that you may need to do a search, since it really depends on how much you're willing to spend and how much effort you want to put into learning a program.

Could you tell me more about a dedicated streaming system?

What do you want to know? There are web hosts that have streaming capabilities set up on their servers and there are companies that sell servers just for Internet streamcasts, like RealAudio or Shoutcast. Obviously the prices depend on what your requirements are. A quick Google search for "dedicated streaming" came up w/ 8 million+ hits.

I understand that they are hosts with media services that you can push your stream to. How do you do live streaming with a dedicated server or with your own? I own a security company (intrusion and cctv). We are starting to incorporate a/v into our portfolio due to client requests. I have a client that has recently installed a T-1 line and wants to archive encoded media for streaming and live stream events 5 times a week. I am still on the low end of the learning curve but I can move fast! I have been trolling for some information. Any recommended resources would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
