Overclocking Limits:

For GF2 MX400 Series: 200~240Core, 200~230Memory.
For GF2 Ti Series : 280~300Core, 450~530Memory.
For GF3 Ti200 Series : 220~240Core, 450~500Memory.
For GF4 440-MX Series: 290~320Core, 450(5ns ram)~520(4ns ram)
Memory.

Here are some programs you can use to determine the limits of your card. If the display goes crazy, restart PC and backdown the clock a bit.

Note: If you see white dots on the screen then it's a memory problem. If you see the figures have odd shapes then it's a core problem.

Some Overclocking Tips

1. Disable APG4X, Sideband addressing, and fast write, if u can. This will generally give you another 5~10MHz.

2. Increase the I/O to 3.5V or 3.6 as it normally increase the voltage the video ram is getting(for GF2MX) which is good for oc. The higher priced GF2, GF3 and GF4 have another voltage controller for ram.

3. Add an active cooling for your VGA card, reapply the thermal component as manufactures are very slack at this.

4. Do not increase your core and memory at the same time. Leave the core at its original frequency and increase the memory's frequency to the max. After reached the max for your ram, increase the core.

5. Add a ram sink after u go beyond 500MHz (DDR clock)

6. Flush your VGA Bios, it may increase the range u can oc.

7. Play around with AGP driving control. It might increase your range of oc.

8. Try out different drivers, some offered better oc ability.

9. Install the latest VIA AGP patch.

http://www.ocworkbench.com/2002/ecs/...ERCLOCKING.htm is quite a good guide that talks about:

How do I overclock my Athlon/Duron processor?
How do I modify my motherboard for overclocking?
How do I increase the RAM voltage?
How do I change the FSB frequency?
How do I overclock my video card?
How do I enable Fast Writes and Sideband Addressing?
What testing utilities should I use?
What benchmarking programs should I use?
What temperature/voltage measuring programs should I use?
What are the settings for Motherboard Monitor 5?

http://www.driverheaven.net has some great drivers and help for overclocking ATI Radeons, nVidia and Matrox Parhelia cards. If you have a radeon then use the Omega drivers as they will improve performance massively.
