Hey all,
I recently found a uncompiled server file for running some game server, and it allows you to use either a text based file database on the local PC or a MySQL database, when i specify in the sourcecode that i want to use the textfile version and i compile it: everything works fine! but when i want to use the MySQL version it gives me a STATUS_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION
error after i compiled and ran it, and it also creates a stackdump file (see below) when (i believe right after) the server tries to connect with the mysql database

im running on a new laptop with intel centrino dual core and i am working on Windows XP, and compiled the server using Cygwin, as thats the only compiler they allow me to use

My question is, what does this error mean and how can i prevent/fix this?

Personally i searched the net for info and found several explanations but i dont know how to prevent this some are: One or more functions i used dont work for my processor type, im using the wrong mysqlclient libraries, cygwin requires its own mysql libraries as it has alot of trouble with them???
