Best method to get listed on GoogleI was wondering... what is the best way to get listed on Google? I submitted my website to dmoz.org. Is there anything else that I can do? Also, what is the best method to get a higher page ranking? Do exchange links actually work? If so, what exchange link would you recommend?

Get rid of the frameset layout firstHello no1special_1999,
I am assuming you're talking about your website in particular ( i.e. the one in your profile). Getting listed on Google is NOT the difficult part, as you've already done, just getting a link back to your homepage off another Google indexed site such as dmoz.org will do it most of the time. You do not necessarily need a listing at dmoz.org to get noticed by Googlebots but that's another story! If you're in need of just one good suggestion right away about optimising your site for Google and the rest of the major search engines, I would suggest you re-design your site and remove the frameset layout. Alternatively, go through this thread for [gid=http://www.desilva.biz/forum/viewtopic361.php]optimising frameset layout for search engines[/gid]. __________________

Well in the words of JDS, the best way to get a higher page rank is.....content, content and more content.
Get your site as great as possible and the links will come. However, link exchanges with relevant sites can allow search engines to understand how to categorise your site and can help with ranking. Despite how it sounds, page rank is not the only thing that is important. Make everything relevant to those that are viewing the site, so give links to the Hawaii advertising agency board and other sites that you want to associate with your own without asking for anything in return. You may find that they get back to you because you give them a bit of traffic and then get a link back. You don't want to be giving loads of links away as the pages just start getting messy so I'd say no more that 7 plus or minus 2. Look for other related directories, there's absolutely tons of them, but you may never see an ounce of traffic from some of them. If they give real links rather than some encoded counting link then its another link to your site. I did a quick search and found http://www.nectar-dude.com/ that you may find appropriate. The final bit of advice is important. I see most of the text on your site isn't text, but rather images. Google cannot find the text within images so it is important that you have the stuff in the articles typed as well even if its on another page. As soon as Googlebot finds the page you'll be indexed rather quickly and start seeing the odd referral to the site. Rob |

Thanks! Thanks for the advice. I'll take out my frameset and will add more text to the website.
