JdS will become famous soon enough

warning: /etc/ldap.conf created as /etc/ldap.conf.rpmnew

I was doing some routine maintenance on this server and when I ran yum earlier on, I noticed this warning/notice:

Quote:
warning: /etc/ldap.conf created as /etc/ldap.conf.rpmnew

I compared both copies and found the following settings missing in the new (ldap.conf.rpmnew) version.

Code:
ssl no tls_cacertdir /etc/openldap/cacerts pam_password md5

I have no clue what this (ldap) is supposed to be doing but I was wondering if I should append these (3) lines into the new configuration file before renaming it.

LDAP is a fast directory-lookup protocol. Cacerts is a file used to keep the root certificates of signing authorities. It appears your LDAP is for tracking authorized users or something similar. I don't know why it didn't update correctly, but IMO it wouldn't hurt to add the missing lines.
