Re: certifications for webhosting ?MSCEs are nearing the "dime a dozen" range in regards to how valuable they are. Because of the number of paper-certs produced by braindump sites and the general lack of knowledge of cert holders, it's approaching the point of being worthless.
I'm saying everyone falls into this category, but if you read many forums, blogs, or other internet community sites (especially ones dedicated to certifications), there's a general consensus that MSCE certs aren't as highly regarded as they once were. Sure, it looks good on your resume and gets your foot in the door, but many companies aren't as impressed anymore because too few cert holders have practical knowledge; the companies are getting burned by spending loads of money hiring cert-holders and come to find out they can't actually do the job. Don't let that dissuade you though; if you actually spent the time learning the material and practicing what you learned, you shouldn't have a problem. Just be aware that there are companies out there that don't put much stock in a MSCE. __________________
