Frames and Flash Problem?? Anyone??Hi,
I am new here and I been trying to get help on my website design. Hope someone could help. I have made a website nicely and with flash and frames. But I was surfing the net and I came across this site www.***.com At the site SEO page it was written that I should not use frames or flash since it will make it harder for the search engine spider to index my page. Could anyone comment on what this site says. The page is under SEO Search Engine Optimization title at www.***.com What should I do if it is true? I have spend 8 weeks doing my site and just about to publish my site!! Thanks, ![]() |

Re: Frames and Flash Problem?? Anyone??Hi 'The Girl',
what that website says is very true. it's like this: Frames use framesets right. So one single page (for the viewer) is actually built from different pages. Google, msn, yahoo and other HATE that and don't even bother searching those real pages anymore. All they see is your skeleton frame that holds it all together... and for flash; flash has never been searchable. There are ways around it. For instance you could fool google and others to see a static text page instead of your flash movies. Then again, this type of 'fooling' is quite illegal and is often called 'cloaking'. The combination of the 2 (AND frames AND flash) is desastrous. Your website will never be a SEO optimised one and you will have to start from scratch again. I know this isn't nice to hear but it's the truth! If you have any further questions, please post here! cheers, Marien |
