Broken GlassI have an Averatec tablet. The glass screen has craked. Its out of warrentee and will cost $460 to repair. The electronics work fine, the screen and pen still work, but the glass cover is craked. It is 258mm x 197mm x1.1mm and has some sort of filter coating that refects blue light. There are no electronic conections to the glass, its just stuck to the main screen outer edge with thin strips of double sided tape. I want to buy the just the glass, is this posible? Help.

Re: Broken GlassIf there are no connections, then possibly. However, I don't know what touch-screen technology the tablets are using. Some have an resitive film that detects pressure and changes the resistivity at that point, others use capacitance, etc. You'll also want to make sure the glass you replace it with has the same characteristics as the original, e.g. thickness, flexibility, etc.
