Why cPanel?I have seen many customers asking for only cPanel, I wonder why they find cPanel better then any other control panels?
What is your opinion on this? |

Re: Why cPanel?Maybe because they haven't tried DirectAdmin yet?
Seriously, cpanel was the best for a while back then. I guess the 'opinion' just stuck for a while longer. I switched to DirectAdmin a couple of years ago and I have never looked back. |

Re: Why cPanel?I think cpanel is way faster and easier to understand, easy to manage and allows lots of control.

cPanel ExplainedcPanel is the most popular hosting management software. It is proven to be good and user-friendly - that's why people are asking for it.
cPanel is a graphical web-based management tool, designed to make administration of web sites as easy as possible. cPanel handles all aspects of website administration in an easy-to-use interface. The idea is to transfer as much of the control and responsibility of managing your web site to you. You have the ability to manage all aspects of e-mail, files, backup, FTP, CGI scripts, and web site statistics. … it's known to be the industry's most user-friendly and powerful control panel. It is designed for use by commercial web hosting services. It is only available on unix-based operating systems, but versions for Solaris, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X are in development. See ryantoh.com/webhosting/ for 2 good cPanel hosts that I know of. |

Re: Why cPanel?Hi!
Don't forget..it's Pretty! Got to be pretty! DA's not fancy enough for most...I've had it..I dunno..I'm trying to quit and learn everything for the command line now..and do without 'em alltogether. It's hard, though. I see the hackers have changed the rules tremendously on many of the used-to-be easy to setup scripts..now are not...and require oh-so-fun recompiles of PHP, Apache and Perl...and a PhD in astrophysics. I have started to swear off of RPM-based installs as well...I like challenges..yeah..that's it! Challenges! Woot! Bryon |

Re: Why cPanel?cPanel is the most reliable I have tested, if you're going to be using a Unix system for your hosting get cPanel, Directadmin is too bland for my likes and although it does have power, cPanel is much better it has more features and I find it much more "fun" to use.
If you're going to be using windows though, you're going to have to choose Plesk, cPanel is still in beta stages for that, if it still even is an option, they might have dumped it. |
