Can You Help Me?I had some difficulty copying a movie DVD using software like 1ClickDVD, ICopyDVDs2 etc and DVD43
Is it possible for the attempted copying process to leave the original movie DVD very badly scratched and marked, with hundreds of tiny scratch marks actually on the original DVD? Thanks for any assistance that you may be able to provide. |

Re: Can You Help Me?does the DVD play normally, without any errors? if it does, it should be able to copy too. i would use Nero for it, i don't think there are free downloads for it, but you could try searching google for it.

Re: Can You Help Me?The original DVD plays normally.
But when I tried to copy it - I had to try to copy it 3 or 4 times with no success. However the original DVD in the process seemed to generate a number of scratches from my attempted copying. Has anyone else experienced this problem? |

Re: Can You Help Me?i've never seen this happen, i would think it would only 'normally' read the DVD to copy it after that.

Re: Can You Help Me?Generally speaking, the only way it would be damaged is if there is a physical abnormality within the drive tray. The software wouldn't hurt it, except by causing the disc to spin resulting in scratches developing. But that should also happen in normal use of the drive.

DVD to HD to DVD1) I would first copy the DVD in a hard drive and then write a new DVD from the hard drive. It allows to copy "almost dead" originals with sectors that are not readable from the first try.
2) Does your drive damages DVDs when it simply reads them? 3) Could you try to write a meaningfull title next time? |
