Italian Job, the movie

I just got back from watching the movie, Italian job.

Nothing special... a good, enjoyable movie. Predictable storyline, drew the occasional chuckle or two, nothing SO incredible that you'd want to see the movie a second time...

BUT, what really impressed me about this movie, the thing I am still thinking about, is this....

I came out of the cinema thinking a LOT about the BMW Mini Coopers. That really impressed me! A true marketing, branding success for these guys if you ask me.

I wonder if anyone else came out of the movie feeling the same way?

Oh, yeah. Them Mini's sure can fly!

What I thought really stupid was the ending. They were in the lorry, it was veering off the end of the cliff. Why didn't they all just get out of the lorry, let it fall, and collect the gold at the bottom???

It's gold, it doesn't burn! Duh

Because the original beginning of the sequel was going to be two helicopters coming round with some sort of wire lifting the bus up onto safety. They compose themselves and go round the corner where they meet the mafia waiting for them. The whole film was supposed to be about them getting the gold back from the mafia though they never decided to do it.

Guys, I am quite distressed now... I am sure I went to see a movie yesterday, I am sure it said: "The Italian Job" on the ticket stub and I am sure it was about a gold heist but after reading your posts, I can't help but feel that you guys are talking about something else.

I went to see the one with Mark Wahlberg and *cough* the other thing *cough* I could not forget for a long time after the movie...

If anyone is talking about the older "The Italian Job"-movie-thingy, I haven't seen it yet... I was 3 years old when they released it (don't try to do the math), I think...

Cool

I haven't seen the remake but the original was a classic!

In the new version does anyone say..."you're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off"?
