http://www.computerforums.org/ - Awesome domain name.

The forum itself looks too light. You should add some more black to the grey colors.

http://www.matrix28.com/ ?
Maybe add some color? You need to do a lot to that site, look for a template or something that would work for you well. Goodluck with it.

Hi Matrix welcome to the forum.

Firstly I notice your using vB 3 beta 4 so you may wait for the final to come out before you take up this first suggestion. The vBulletin theme you have is the standard one and it looks like any other on the planet with the recognisable tick. Even your favicon is apppearing as the vBulletin one, which makes everything look very boring and generic. Have a look at http://www.vbskinz.com/skins.php for some inspiration at least.

Secondly, I appreciate your trying to stick in every little keyword possible on the front page, but it ends up looking totally cluttered and I don't know where to look next. If your trying to attract the search engines make a sticky at the top of each forum outlining the rules and expected discussion rather than cramming tons of words on each one. I mean your dedicated hosting one is 3 lines long and whether you like it or not I'm never going to read more than a quick description, which is what the forum name should have and does explain in your case what to expect. Have a look at how JDS has done it here with absolutely no description apart from in the off topic section just to clarify things.

To be honest I don't really know what your site is supposed to be with the only clue being the domain name, which is a good generic name so you have choice though it would be good to clarify it somewhere. If you are going for a site that is "everything that involves computers" then I think you should seriously consider making quite a few subforums even if they aren't particularly busy now or it will just become a mishmash of cross topic discussion and no-one will be able to find anything without using the search function.

Oh and instead of having "powered by vBulletin" in your title try thinking of a decent summarisation of the site.

p.s. I'll look at matrix28 when I've caught my breath ;P

Matrix 28

Matrix 28:
Well for starters the matrix 28 image looks a bit tacky because of the little white bits you can see around the edges. If you clean that up it should look a lot well...cleaner.

I don't like the way that you've alphabetically indexed the subcategories with it going across the way and then starting on the next row. This makes it incredibly hard to find the category I want. It would be much more effective in terms of usability to have the alphabet working top-down.

How about a search function? I know from my experience from other script sites that I don't really know where to start when there is 15,000 scripts to search through. I know quite a bit about script sites since I've pretty much tried to find them all, although this was new to me :-D and so a couple of things that I've liked from other sites include these:
Mini screenshot, links to demo, member reviews and votes, non-member votes, editorial comments and choices, top 10 list by votes and popularity for each section.

Oh and there's a horrible typo on every page by the advert saying "Want you banner here?"

Hope some of this helps.

Rob
