excuse me im new to this but i have a new hp laptop and all i want to do is make a cd and its telling me there is no burner found what do i do it has cd rw dvd rw on the door so i know it has one right??? help

do you have a burning software like Nero or the like? Can you post your Drive Model?

I use a Toshiba laptop with a DVD-Ram station (so DVD+/- RW, and CD RW) and when i installed windows on it (with the DVD delivered by Toshiba) it gave me a few shortcuts on the desktop saying how to get this all working. The laptop came with a software utilities DVD, including drivers for the DVD-Ram station. see if there's any DVD with "software utilities", and else try the help files.
