Status bar problem in vc without using mfc... :(hi all...
im trying to learn win32 programming, since using mfc with directx is a waste of resources... i do not want all the error-handling and encapsulation that mfc does... so im going for a pure win32 application framework that doesnt require mfc... now onto the problem... and ive been banging my head against the screen for over three days now... and ive searched EVERYWHERE... and now am in desperate need for help... ive used mfc and the CStatusBar class that ships with it... now when im working without mfc... i need to put a status bar at the bottom of my window... the thing is... ive noticed that the CStatusBar puts the statusbar in the non-client area of the window... where as no matter how hard i try... i just can't seem to create the status bar in the same region in win32... it always appears in the client region... i mean mfc defaults to this style... so it shouldnt be too hard... but im at a loss for words... someone please help me put my status bar in the non-client area or wherever mfc puts it... equally helpful would be if someone would direct me off to a place from where i could get to know the inner implementation details of mfc encapsulation framework... asim... |
