help with 320gb Sata hdI just recently bought a new 320gig sata harddrive. Im guessing that I didnt set it up properly, because only 130gigs is being shown as useable in my partition program. I installed windows on a 40 gig partition and only had 90 gigs left afterwards. Its not in a raid configuration. Since Im using an "upgrade past version of windows" xp cd, I first had to install windows 95 and upgrade it after wards. Its when I was installing windows 95 that it first makes you partition the drive. Im not sure whats going on but would like help plz!

Re: help with 320gb Sata hdDoes your motherboard support such a large HD? You may need a BIOS flash to allow it be recognized, like an LBA (logical block addressing) utility. You might also try partitioning it into smaller sections giving you more drive letters. This not only will it make your storage structure more flexible, but it will make it easier to do backups, defrag, and general data management.
