I'm a bit curious to know, what are the advisable sizes of webspace and bandwith for a personal site?

What do you plan on having on the site? Simple blogs or text-based sites don't require very much but if you want to post files, videos, etc. then obviously you'll need quite a bit more. And you can always upgrade if you start to run out of room.

That really does depend on how many people visit your site, I rmember
getting my first paid package and I bought LOADS of webspace and
bandwidth to be safe, but atleast it never went down due to it! Its up to how much you are willing to pay too.

Webspace requirement depends on the size of site, databases and the traffic of mails from your domain mail accounts. and bandwidth really depends on the no of people visit the site.
