Data retrievalDear All
I remember hearing somewhere that it was possible to retrieve data from public databases that I could include on my website. I am specifically interested in FTSE 100 stock prices. I seem to recall that it was possible to get this sort of information from yahoo/google using PHP. Does anybody know if this is correct? If so could you point me in the right direction? Best Regards Philip |

Do you mean like an XML RSS news feed where the information is continually updated without having to do much?
Here's a ticker that may be helpful: http://www.sharepages.com/index.a?load=SE_MB Rob |

Cheers jrobbio
I am not sure what an 'XML RSS news feed' is. The site you directed me to is the sort of thing that I want, just I would like to be able to break the information do and display it differently. What I want to do is send a ticker symbol and get the price back. I confess that I havn't gone all the way through that page yet. Could you tell me what this process is called, just so I can do some more intelligent searching. Regards Phil |
