Help With Site NeededHey all,
OK I'm starting a new business and want a top class website. Now, I don't really know too much about web design etc, however i do have basic knowledge. Thats why I came on this forum to hopefully find someone to do it for me. What Id like to do is buy a template (Ive seen some really cool flash sites) and basically pay someone to: *Add all the information to it, and images etc *Advise me on the cheapest hosting etc, and basically get the site up and running. If your interested please mail me so we can have a chat about it. Regards Stuart Fadden |

Hey Stu welcome to GIDForums.
I don't know if you are aware, but there are some very good FREE content management systems (CMS) out there that may be just your ticket to designing your site. Mambo siteserver is definitely one to look out for with the new version coming out just around the corner. Basically, a person could design the template for the CMS and make it a lot easier for you to update and change things at whim. On the other hand you could have a straight html/php template that may suit your needs, although it is a bit harder to update. We've got a couple of template designers that hang around the board who will probably contact you to get some more ideas about the details of what you are looking for. I get from your excitement with flash that you want one that involves it right? Any more specifics about the site and we'll see if we can help you out with getting the right person. Rob |

1. If you want to pay someone to do it, I will be happy to. www.mrbobdouglas.com for more information.
2. If you want to pay someone to do it, and get your hands dirty in the code, pick up a lot about the site, I will drop the cost, even though it will take lots more time, you will save some money, and pick up some good help. Either way you choose, let me know. I am more than happy to work with you on the site you need. About what Rob said. If you want something with CMS, you should definately take a look at the Mambo siteserver. It is a little harder to do, codingwise, however, you save time when you decide to update. I will advise you right now about the hosting. I believe www.IPowerWeb.com is great for small businesses. If you notice on my website, that is the place whom I re sell. If you decide to sign up with them, let me know, and if you dont mind, sign up through the hosting link provided at the bottom of my hosting page. Here is a link to a comparrison among a couple of Web Hosting offers: http://mrbobdouglas.com/hosting/comp...g_unix_pro.php You will notice on their, the only time IPowerWeb does not blow the other guys off the net is when you would need 1000MB of Space, and 50GB of bandwidth. I also provided a link to that place if you decide you want hosting with tons of space and bandwidth. I hope all things work out no matter what way you choose. Goodluck. |

You can use online sitebuilders. The most advanced of them is www.Site2You.com (sorry for advertising :-D )
you'll be able to create your site using professional templates and building engine. |

Hello Gary,
Thank you for the link. I wouldn't say you're advertising... your product / service is somewhat relevant to the topic. __________________

Hi,
If you want a top notch site fairly quickly, I would NOT suggest an online sitebuilder. When I first got started, I got a copy of dreamweaver. It has a good WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) building interface, plus it does just everything you need to get started. Find a template online, or create your own, and name it "template.htm" in your dreamweaver site. Any time you need to create a new page just right click on the file, click duplicate, and rename it. Very fast and easy. I'll be happy to consult with you via email, or IM for free (within reason). email me at support@cadenzaweb.com if your interested. Thanks, Josh www.CadenzaWeb.com |
