Protect your AdSense ads from accidental clicks - guaranteedHi,
I guess everyone here has in one point or another accidentaly clicked on their own AdSense ads. Until now, when I was checking out my web site, I was always doing that with extreme caution. I know, Google usually dismisses your own clicks, but who wants to take that risk? Yesterday I found this PDF file, that has 2 very simple methods for ensuring you never again click your own ads. Methods listed are very simple. One you probably all already know - disable JavaScript. The second one includes using the hosts file on your computer. By using the hosts file you block domains that serve ads. The procedure goes something like this. - Find the hosts file on your computer. For win XP it's in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts - Open the file with Notepad - Add 127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com - For all other domains that serve ads you should add a line like this: 127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com Just replace the pagead2.google..... with the domain serving ads I would post a link to the PDF file for more information, but I'm not sure if that is allowed. Just to be on the safe side, if anyone is interested in the PDF, pm me, and I'll send you the link. |

Re: Protect your AdSense ads from accidental clicks - guaranteedSearch this forum, there has been a solution posted that uses a cookie (no AdSense for me) to handle this problem.
