I am installing Apache now, any idea what the new.host.name does if you change it?

nothing much will happen, as i indicated in my latest article, no matter what u put there, ONLY typing 'localhost' on your browser will work. if u want to use something else other then 'localhost' then ALSO change the info in the filenamed 'hosts' in c:windows.

If it is a personal webserver, I have always made it a point to make it 127.0.0.1 or localhost . That way, no one will view some of your test scripts.
